Having influences from such legends as Mix Master Ice, DJ Kool Herc, Grand Wizard Theodore, Jazzy Jeff, DJ Scratch, Jam Master Jay, Cocoa Chanelle, Kid Capri, The Hustler And Grandmaster Flash, DJ SKNO™ is a veteran DJ with over 30 years in the business. In 1981 this Dayton, Ohio native went from being a preacher's kid singing along side his 3 sisters, playing the trumpet, to breakdancing while also sneaking listening to his dad's gospel records on the living room stereo eventually becoming a master of the turntables in 1983! Attending Sinclair Community College And Central State University while also deejay several clubs DJ SKNO graduated majoring in “Broadcast Communications” He interned at “Radio First” later becoming one of the most sought after DJ's playing on the airwaves as a mixer at WBTT "94.5 The Beat" In Dayton, Ohio Also an on air personality on the morning show later gaining his own specialty mix show at night “The Thunderstorm!”
After 4 years SKNO became an overnight air personality at WROU “U92.1 Jams" in Dayton, Ohio while also doing the weekend mix show “Club 9 Duece” becoming the first DJ to do a mix show live from the club! 4 1/2 Years later moving on SKNO went on to do special mixes and events for WDHT “Hot 102.9!” While also working as member of the Universal Zulu Nation and the elite DJ organization “The CORE DJs” with the leadership of nationally known DJ “Tony Neal”, the CORE DJ’s is the largest and most respected DJ organization in the music business. DJ SKNO later started mixing for SIRIUS satellite radio on “Hot Jamz” Channel 50 the “CORE DJ Radio Show” for several years when after a short stent the “CORE DJ Radio Show” made it’s move over to “Shade45 On “SIRIUS XM Radio.” SKNO Simultaneously doing the commercial broadcast of the “CORE DJ Radio” syndicated show heard on over 20 Stations worldwide!
In 2015 DJ SKNO was promoted to the “Director of Music Programming” for the “CORE DJ Radio” show on “Shade 45 Sirius XM Radio”
For over 35 years DJ SKNO nationally traveling and made his mark in the streets with his award winning mixtape’s & cd’s appearing in many nationally recognized magazines as Hip Hop Weekly, The Source magazine and many newspaper write up and circulations! DJ SKNO was also very pivotal in the growing of the record label Tall Entertainment and promotional and recording company RAZDABAR with best friend (The Late) Moses “MOE BEATs” Montgomery, (Widow) Dawn Montgomery and friend Mitchell Stanford! DJ SKNO has since turned his life over to GOD and lives a totally different life in the LORD. The Power And Praise Gospel Mixshow was formed Late November 2019 and DJ SKNO retired from secular radio on his birthday December 5, 2019 and has been going strong with his new life! “ I’m NOT here to impress YOU, I ‘m here to PLEASE GOD!” SKNO can now be heard and seen on different video streaming platforms mixing Gospel, Old School, Jazz, Slow Jams, Reggae and Soca Music. SKNO is also very active in the community!
